Holy Shit

Al Gore: Burn The Motherfucker Down: "'If you're a young person looking at the future of this planet and looking at what is being done right now, and not done, I believe we've reached the stage where it is time for civil disobedience to prevent the construction of new coal plants that do not have carbon...'

Couldn't make out the rest because the crowd's cheers drowned it out, but he'd been complaining at the Clinton Global Initiative about coal plants that falsely claimed to have 'plans' to sequester CO2 from coal, so I guess that's the idea."
So, like, what if Gore starts travelling around the country organizing sit-ins to stop Coal Plants from being built? That'd be like the most awesome protest ever, right?

Do you really take this charlatan seriously? If he's so concerned, maybe he should start by burning his mansion and house boat.

The Boat runs on bio fuel and solar power. It's a high-end concept boat designed to showcase how we can maintain our quality of life and yet not destroy the planet.

It's almost as if you're arguing in bad faith...

I think you're missing the point. Building things like mansions and house boats cause lots of pollution, and they have really high energy maintenance costs, even if they are built to be green. Gore lives an unnecessarily opulent and energy consuming lifestyle, but seeks to keep criticism at bay by making token green gestures like installing solar panels on his mansion -- last I checked it still uses enough energy for 200 or so regular homes. The fact is, it's impossible to live like someone who is filthy rich and be green, and I find it pretty amusing to watch people reconcile what Gore says to what he does.
